What changed from 1 April 2026?
FSSAI revised the general turnover thresholds for new applications from 1 April 2026. Registration applies up to ₹1.5 crore, State Licence generally applies above ₹1.5 crore and up to ₹50 crore, and Central Licence generally applies above ₹50 crore.

Why turnover alone is not enough
FSSAI eligibility can depend on Kind of Business, activity, capacity, location and other regulatory criteria. Use turnover as an initial guide, then confirm the applicable FoSCoS category.
What does perpetual validity mean?
Under the 2026 framework, FSSAI registrations and licences remain valid unless suspended, cancelled or surrendered. Ongoing hygiene, safety and other statutory obligations still continue.
